Presentation
It is expected that the IoT will become increasingly prevalent in the coming years. However, the IoT faces several challenges in its development and deployment. For instance, developing heterogeneous, secure, and maintainable IoT networks is challenging due to the involvement of multiple concerns and technologies inherent to the IoT ecosystem. There is a need for more approaches and tools that address its specific requirements. Model-Driven Engineering (MDE) can help tackle some of these challenges, such as providing a higher level of abstraction that is agnostic to the underlying technologies or enabling the precise description of various aspects of IoT networks using a Domain-Specific Language (DSL). Its strength lies in offering systematic, traceable, and well-tested approaches for software engineering. Some of MDE's major contributions to software engineering include Low/No Code development, code generation, and class-based modeling. Several of these approaches can benefit the IoT. For instance, we can use a DSL to specify the full behavior of a network of things, then use code generation to generate the deployable code for all possible programming languages according to the network resources.
The goal of this workshop is to provide a platform for researchers and practitioners in model-based software development to discuss the potential of model-based development in addressing the challenges of IoT.

Submission
The proceedings will be published at the IEEE Xplore Digital Library.
We will accept full papers as well as short papers, including position and demonstration papers in the above-mentioned topics, according to the following criteria:
For short papers, the limit is five (5) pages.
For full papers, the limit is ten (10) pages.
All submissions must be in PDF format, adhering strictly to the specified page limit, as additional pages cannot be purchased at any stage of the process.
Submissions must follow the IEEE formatting guidelines and comply with the IEEE Authors’ Rights and Responsibilities.
Additionally, IEEE requires authors to provide ORCIDs. For LaTeX users, this should be implemented using the orcidlink package, along with the following settings:

All submitted papers will undergo a rigorous peer-review process conducted by a panel of experts in the field. Each submission will be reviewed by at least two independent reviewers, evaluating originality, technical quality, relevance, and clarity. Accepted papers will be selected based on their contribution to the field of model-based development for the IoT and alignment with the workshop's objectives.
While in-person presentations are recommended due to their valuable advantages—such as direct engagement and immediate feedback— MoDIoT will follow the conference's hybrid format. Both in-person and virtual participation will be supported.
